Hiroshima & Nagasaki Shadow Painting to depict those vapourised by the bombsSunday August 8th, Hiroshima Memorial Event, Chapelfield Gardens.
  To mark the dropping of the first atomic bomb by the U.S. on Hiroshima killing 80,000 people in Japan in August 1945 to be followed shortly afterwards by a second on Nagasaki  killing many more. Both cities were destroyed in the process and many more people were injured, maimed and later suffered all manner of defects and deformities caused by the radiation and fall-out. These were war crimes for which to date there has been no apology.

                12.45  A  short ceremony, led by Joy Croft with a reading by Mayor of Norwich Councillor Tom Dylan, will include a Taiko drum solo, and the laying of a wreath of cranes at the Peace Pillar in Chapelfield Park.
